​And so, it began our long-awaited opening tournament for 2026 at Bey Lea Golf course on Saturday – April 11. The weather was near perfect with just little breeze but enough to bother the players. And the course was in great shape with forgiving fairways. But not everything was easy coz the speed of the greens and the location of pins presented big challenges to a lot of players. Well, all of the players except 1 who made it look so easy. And that player is no other than our El Presidente Elmer Sadiangabay.

 

Congratulations to Elmer – our El Presidente and FAGOC's 1st Tournament Champion of 2026!  

 

Carding a net score of 68, Elmer won the tournament in his dominant fashion. It was a runaway victory as he’s the only player to break sub 70.  The closest players coming in second place are Ralph, Rene and Dada. All tied at 73 net score.

 

As previously announced by El Presidente, FAGOC made some changes for 2026. And one of them is that each tournament will only have 1 winner, i.e., Tournament Champion.

FedEx tournament continues in 2026 and with the elimination of class A and B categories, the distribution of FedEx points per tournament becomes a lot simpler. 

 

Match play also continues and Rene will manage and post the winners of the matches. Likewise, in the Birdies competition, Raul will continue to manage and report updates on the standing of players who participated.   

 

Our next tournament is on Saturday – April 25 at the Lakewood Country Golf Club!
